What Akhi handles
The screening calls your recruiters can't scale, handled with adab.
Six things Akhi runs end-to-end so your recruiters can spend their day on shortlisted candidates instead of repeating the same first-call script three hundred times.
First-round candidate screening
Akhi runs the same core questions across hundreds of candidates — notice period, location fit, salary band, language proficiency — and captures structured answers your recruiters can scan in seconds.
Interview scheduling and rescheduling
Pulls live availability from Google or Outlook, books the slot inside the call, sends the invite, and handles the “can we move it to after Maghrib?” reschedule without your coordinator stepping in.
Hijab-friendly workplace matching
Asks the candidate's preferences directly — without making it weird. Captures whether they want a women-friendly team, a private prayer space, or a hijab-positive dress-code culture, and routes the answer into your match logic.
Ramadan-schedule flexibility checks
Confirms the role accommodates iftar breaks, Friday Jummah leave, and reduced hours during the last 10 nights. Catches the mismatch before the candidate sits through three rounds and quits in week two.
Post-interview follow-ups
Calls the candidate after the panel, captures the “how did it go from your side” signal, surfaces accommodations the panel missed, and flags any salary-or-benefits objection before the offer goes out.
Onboarding-paperwork prompts
Once the offer is signed, Akhi calls to nudge the right-to-work documents, the bank details, the start-date confirmation — in the candidate's preferred language, on their preferred number, with the warmth your TA team can't scale.
Sample call
Pre-screen, code-switching mid-call.
An outbound call to a customer-ops candidate. Akhi opens in English, mirrors the candidate's switch into Urdu, then closes back in English. Ramadan flexibility and hijab-friendly preferences captured straight into the ATS.
- Greets every candidate with proper salams — and confirms the call is a good time before screening
- Switches between English, Arabic, and Urdu mid-call to match the candidate's natural register
- Captures notice period, salary band, location fit, and accommodation preferences as structured fields
- Writes outcome back to your ATS — shortlisted, follow-up, or rejected — before the call ends

Customer-ops role · First-round screening
Assalamu alaykum, this is Akhi calling from [Recruiter] about the customer-ops role you applied for. Is this a good time for a quick screening call?
Wa alaykum assalam — ji haan, paanch minute theek hain.
Jazak Allahu khairan. Aap abhi kaam kar rahe hain? Notice period kya hai? And the role is hybrid — Monday to Friday, with Jummah leave and iftar-break flexibility during Ramadan.
Yes, I'm working — 30-day notice. Alhamdulillah, the Jummah piece is exactly what I needed. The last role didn't accommodate it.
Got it — noted in your file. One last question: do you want a women-friendly team and a private prayer space prioritized in matching?
Yes, both — that's a deal-breaker for me.
Locked in. Insha'Allah, the hiring team will reach out within two days with interview slots that match. Fee Amanillah.

The Muslim-recruiter reality
The questions every Muslim candidate wants asked first.
A Muslim candidate sitting through a third-round panel only to discover the role doesn't accommodate Friday Jummah is the quiet attrition story every Muslim-owned recruiter knows. So is the sister who walks into the interview, sees no women on the floor, and never replies to the offer email.
Recruiters serving Muslim candidates need to ask about hijab accommodations without making it weird. Need to schedule around Jummah without it becoming the elephant in the room. Need to confirm halal cafeteria and prayer-space availability without making the candidate feel like they're imposing. Need to flag iftar-break flexibility before Ramadan, not after the offer is signed.
Akhi handles those questions naturally in the screening conversation — in the candidate's language, with the register a Muslim candidate expects. The accommodations land as preferences, not as “diversity & inclusion” line items, and your match logic uses them downstream the way your best human recruiter would.
Adab guardrails
Four guardrails. None of them optional.
Recruitment is the most-regulated outbound surface in voice AI. Akhi ships with the safety rails wired in — by default, for every customer.
Asks accommodation questions without making it weird
Hijab-friendly culture, prayer-space availability, halal cafeteria options, Ramadan flexibility — Akhi asks the questions a Muslim recruiter would ask, in the register a Muslim candidate expects. No HR-form awkwardness, no “diversity & inclusion” packaging.
Halal-only platform refusal — at the agency level
We won't onboard a recruitment agency that screens for refused verticals (riba banks, alcohol, gambling, conventional insurance). The list is public at /halal-business-filter and permanent. Your candidate pipeline stays clean.
T&C-gated outbound — consent on every uploaded list
Outbound recruitment is heavily regulated under TCPA, GDPR, and country-specific labor laws. Every uploaded candidate list requires consent confirmation. Every campaign logs callability provenance. Legal blast radius is zero by design.
Hands off to a human recruiter on edge cases
Salary negotiations. Candidate complaints. Special-needs accommodations. Anything outside the structured-screen scope gets a dignified handoff with the full context attached. Your recruiter walks into the call already informed.
Built for Muslim-owned recruiters
A platform your candidates can trust by default.
Adab built in
Greets every candidate with proper salams. Switches between English, Urdu, and Arabic mid-call to match the candidate. Closes with a du'a, not a “have a great day.”
Halal-only platform
We refuse onboarding for any recruitment agency screening into haram verticals — riba banks, alcohol, gambling, conventional insurance. Permanently. The list is public.
T&C-gated outbound
Every uploaded candidate list requires consent confirmation at upload. Every outbound campaign logs callability provenance. Legal blast radius is zero by design.

Frequently asked
Questions a recruiter would ask on the second call.
Which languages does Akhi screen in?
At launch: English, Arabic (MSA + Gulf), and Urdu — including code-switching mid-call the way candidates naturally speak. Indonesian, Malay, Turkish, Bengali, French (Maghreb), and Somali are on the public roadmap. We add a language only after native-speaker adab review passes — full roadmap at /multilingual.
How is candidate data handled? GDPR? CCPA?
Calls and transcripts are encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256, per-tenant keys). EU customer DPA is available before contract signing — we treat EU candidates as if GDPR applies regardless of recruiter location. Candidates can request export or deletion at any time. Full posture documented at /security.
What happens when Akhi hits a question outside its scope?
Akhi captures the question, returns a dignified callback promise in the candidate's language, and routes the case to your designated recruiter with the full transcript attached. Salary negotiations, complaints, and special-needs accommodations always handoff. We log every deferral.
How long is an average screening call?
Three to five minutes for a standard pre-screen — about the same as a human first-round, with the difference that Akhi runs ten of them in parallel. Custom screens with ATS write-back and scheduling stretch to seven or eight minutes.
