The COD reality
Cash on delivery is the default in Muslim-majority markets. Confirmation calls are the difference between a sale and a return.
Cash-on-delivery is the dominant payment method across MENA, Pakistan, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Card penetration is still climbing. BNPL options like Tabby and Tamara are growing fast in the Gulf, but the warehouse-to-door reality for halal D2C remains: most customers want to pay the rider in cash and inspect the box at the door.
That works only if the order is real. Without confirmation calls, fake orders and impulse-buys-then-changed-minds turn into return-to-origin shipments. Akhi never runs an Eid-bundle promo call inside the last hour before maghrib, never cold-calls during taraweeh, never schedules abandoned-cart outreach during suhoor. Akhi captures the refusal reason verbatim (changed mind, wrong product, delivery too slow, price), marks the order as cancelled in your dispatch system with an audit-trail note, and routes the recovery decision back to your team. Your warehouse never packs a fake order. Your retention team sees the cancellation reason categorized and ready to act on.
Can Akhi handle Arabic ↔ English and Urdu ↔ English code-switching mid-call?
Yes. That's the work, not a bullet point. Real MENA and South Asia D2C calls move between English and Arabic or Urdu inside a single sentence. Akhi was tuned for this from day one, not bolted on as a translation layer. What's the retry logic on no-answer COD calls?
Three configurable retries with exponential backoff (default: 30 min, 2 hours, next morning), with a hard ceiling at 24 hours from order creation. Each attempt logs outcome (no-answer, voicemail, network failure, busy). After the third no-answer the order is auto-flagged for manual review. You configure all of it; we don't run silent retry loops.
How do you handle GDPR / PDPA / Saudi PDPL consent for outbound D2C calls?
Every uploaded customer list requires consent confirmation at upload: checkbox + provenance log noting when the customer opted in to phone follow-up. Every outbound campaign logs callability provenance per number. We refuse campaigns where the consent log doesn't pass jurisdictional rules.
